STATEMENT
Heat domes, atmospheric rivers, fires, floods, and drought. I work with slow, long-form journalism, relying on the collaged logic of painting to reveal the narrative. At Eden Camp, the story of resistance took many forms. Sometimes, it meant searching deep in the grove for signs of the endangered Goshawk–a rare bird that, if found, would temporarily force the logging to stop. Sometimes, it meant locking yourself shoulder deep into the earth, physically preventing the logging trucks from going any further. Sometimes, it meant cooking a warm meal for fellow forest protectors. The strength and power in the relationships between the people at Eden Camp created a community unlike any other. It is their conviction that will have the largest lasting impact.
